Sve vi\u0161e klini\u010dkih studija i dokaza pokazalo je da probiotici, prebiotici i postbiotici mogu sprije\u010diti i lije\u010diti razli\u010dite bolesti, no trenutno se mogu koristiti samo kao dodaci prehrani, a ne kao lijekovi, \u0161to ograni\u010dava njihovu primjenu u podru\u010dju medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mikrobiota ljudskog crijeva zamr\u0161en je ekosustav koji se sastoji od trilijuna mikroorganizama, uklju\u010duju\u0107i bakterije, viruse, gljivice i druge mikrobne entitete. Ovaj gust i raznolik mikrobiom evoluirao je zajedno s ljudima, a oblikuje ga na\u0161a fiziologija, prehrana i na\u010din \u017eivota.&nbsp;Mikrobiota igra vi\u0161estruku ulogu u crijevima, a njezina homeostaza postala je neizostavan aspekt ljudskog zdravlja. Nedavna znanstvena istra\u017eivanja otkrila su da je homeostaza crijevne mikrobiote klju\u010dna za regulaciju upalnih procesa, odr\u017eavanje metaboli\u010dke homeostaze te sazrijevanje i regulaciju imunolo\u0161kog sustava.&nbsp;Me\u0111utim, poreme\u0107aji u homeostazi crijevne mikrobiote, poznati kao disbioza, mogu pridonijeti razvoju niza bolesti. Na primjer, tu su upalna bolest crijeva (IBD), pretilost, dijabetes tipa 2, pa \u010dak i udaljene sistemske bolesti, uklju\u010duju\u0107i kardiovaskularne bolesti, odre\u0111ene vrste raka i neuro-degenerativne poreme\u0107aje.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201eBiotici\u201c je sveobuhvatan pojam koji obuhva\u0107a razli\u010dite tvari i mikroorganizme koji imaju pozitivan utjecaj na \u017eive organizme, posebice na ljudsko zdravlje. Zdravlje crijeva igra klju\u010dnu ulogu u op\u0107em zdravlju organizma, a probiotici, prebiotici i postbiotici klju\u010dni su igra\u010di u odr\u017eavanju ravnote\u017ee crijevne mikroflore.
